How to know labour pain is starting 5 real signs

Every pregnant woman is worried about one question - how will I know that labour has started? Especially first-time mothers in Pakistan get confused between false pain and real labour pain.

Here are 5 real and true signs that your delivery is starting.

*1. Regular Contractions (Asli Dard)*

False pain comes and goes anytime. Real labour pain comes in a pattern. For example, pain every 10 minutes, then every 7 minutes, then every 5 minutes. The pain starts from back and comes to front. It becomes stronger and stronger. If pain is regular, go to hospital.

*2. Water Bag Breaks (Pani ki Theli Phutna)*

You will feel sudden water coming out, like you urinated. It can be a little or a lot. It has no smell like urine. This means your water bag has broken. Go to hospital immediately, even if there is no pain.

*3. Mucous Plug with Blood (Khooni Laal Nishan)*

During pregnancy, a mucus plug blocks your cervix. When delivery is near, this plug comes out with a little blood. It is called "bloody show". It means cervix is opening and labour will start in 1-2 days.

*4. Baby Drops Down*

You will feel that baby has moved down. You will feel less pressure on chest and more pressure on lower belly and bladder. You will go to bathroom more often. This usually happens 2-3 weeks before labour in first pregnancy.

*5. Constant Back Pain*

If you have severe, constant back pain that does not stop even after changing position, it can be a sign of labour. Real labour back pain is very strong.

*What to Do When Labour Starts?*

- Stay calm, take deep breaths

- Tell your husband and family

- Take your hospital bag and reports

- Do not eat heavy food

- Go to hospital

*Conclusion*

If you see any of these 5 signs, do not wait at home. Go to your doctor or hospital immediately.
