How to Increase Breast Milk Supply After Delivery?

Many new mothers in Pakistan complain that breast milk is not enough for the baby. Don't worry, this is a common problem in the first week and can be solved with correct diet and technique.

Here are 7 proven desi foods and tips.

*1. Zeera Water and Saunf Water*

In our dadi amma's time, saunf and zeera water was given to new mothers. It increases milk and also reduces gas in baby.

_How to use:_ Boil 1 tsp saunf + 1 tsp zeera in 2 glasses of water and drink lukewarm whole day.

*2. Dalia and Oats*

Dalia (porridge) is the best food to increase milk. It also gives you energy after delivery weakness.

*3. Garlic and Green Vegetables*

Garlic (lehsan) in tadka and green vegetables like methi, spinach, and dill (soya) help a lot in milk production.

*4. Gond and Panjiri*

If you are in winter, home-made panjiri with gond, almonds, and desi ghee is excellent. But eat in small quantity if summer.

*5. Drink More Water - 12 Glasses*

Milk is made from water. If you drink less water, milk will be less. Keep a water bottle near you while breastfeeding.

*6. Correct Breastfeeding Position*

Many times milk is there but baby cannot suck properly. Make sure baby's mouth covers the full brown part. Feed every 2 hours, even at night. The more baby sucks, the more milk will come.

*7. What to Avoid?*

- Don't give feeder or formula too quickly, it reduces your own milk.

- Avoid stress and tension.

- Avoid cold drinks and too much chai.

*When to see doctor?*

If baby is not passing urine 6 times a day, or is crying too much even after feeding, consult your lady doctor.

Try these for 3-4 days, InshaAllah milk supply will increase.
